WPS – Active but Different
WPS – Active but Different
WPS responds to the coronavirus crisis
Winchester Photographic Society has, of course, been tremendously affected by the restrictions surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic and consequent restrictions.
We have, none the less, found ways to continue with photographic activities and WPS interactions.
This has been enabled and supported by the particularly IT-savvy members: Trevor Morecraft, Steven Cooper, Adrian Walmsley and Gerard Carlin.
It’s been a tremendous collaborative effort involving the committee and has allowed us to continue to promote photography and help members improve and advance in all aspects of their craft.
The Society has arranged:
- A complete Competition Programme, online using the GoToMeeting platform
- An Annual Exhibition, online, in collaboration with Hampshire Cultural Trust and judged online,
- Tuesday evening speakers, online, using GoToMeeting platform
- Online challenges and galleries, on our website and Facebook
- Training opportunities, with online tuition
- Support for the Beginners Group and Improvers Group, online
- An AGM which will be held online, using GoToWebinar
So, Winchester Photographic Society is active even in these restricted times, and we are making plans for a full programme of photographic events when the transition to a new normality happens.
