An informal monthly competition for the most liked post in the Members’ Facebook Group.

Note: When a post contains multiple images, Facebook maintains separate counts of likes for the post and for each of the images in the post.

We calculate the score for such a post by combining the list of members who liked the post with the name of those who liked any of the images and then eliminating duplicates. This gives the number of separate members who liked the post and/or one of its images. We use the COUNTA(UNIQUE()) spreadsheet formula.

If you imbed an image or an album from another source on facebook such as your own account, this may not count towards the WPS “most liked” competition because likes could come from outside WPS .

If necessary to resolve a tie we may discount liking your own post.

In August, there was a tie on 21 likes for first place between Robin Shaw’s Railway Children and Tony Smith’s announcement that his images had been featured in the August issue of Frames magazine. Steve Bailey took 3rd place with 16 likes for his set of skate ramp images.

There was a three way tie for 4th place on 14 likes, followed by a tightly bunched field with only two likes separating the remaining 15.

    • 1st= Tony Smith’s success in getting his images published in August Frames Magazine digital version, posted on 23 August, with 21 likes.

        • I’m pleased to share that my photographs and story from Semana Santa, Holy Week, in Malaga this Easter are featured in the August Frames Magazine digital version. I’m particularly chuffed as this is my second inclusion this year, which I think is unprecedented. Earlier in the year they featured my Ambassador Taxis, which I believe will be in the RPS Digital Magazine due soon.

        • Low surf day at Boardmasters, so I’ve reverted to my childhood and headed to the skate ramp. Using flash to ‘overpower the sun’ in some photos, together with 8mm fisheye and 16mm at times. But, you’ll know that using a fisheye means getting VERY close – definitely felt better with canoe helmet on! And a good time was had by all

    • 4th= Robin Shaw’s Grand Sunset posted on 26 August with 14 likes.
    • 4th= Steve Russell’s Total Eclipse in Iceland posted on 23 August with 14 likes.
      • Steve said that he and his wife were lucky to see the total solar eclipse in Iceland. Despite thick clouds and an early departure from port, the captain found a clear patch of blue sky and kept the ship there, allowing them to see the full totality and parts of the partial eclipse before and after.
