WPS Print League Round 4 Tuesday 14 April 2020

Round 4 was held as a PDI competition because of the coronavirus lockdown.

Remote participation peaked at about 83 members joining the online meeting using GoToMeeting software.

Judge: Daan Olivier FRPS AFIAP

Winners, placed and highly commended entries

Competition Secretary Gordon Brown reports the following results and adds his comments on the Print League positions.

BEGINNERS

1st Stella Chandler New crosses the old
2nd Sheana Webster Upside down view
3rd Angela Cook Hooded coat
C Kate Carslaw Frosty morning
B-C Bob Allen Resting

With one round to go, it’s tight at the top of the Beginners League with any one of six members in with a chance of success:  Sheana is in pole position closely followed by Bob (Henley), Kate, Nick (Sellick), Stella and Maurice

INTERMEDIATES

1st Kate Whieldon Kestrel in the bluebells
2nd Deborah Gordon Spring flowers
3rd Tim Lever Tree within a tree
C Jude Blackman A wisp of smoke
C Richard Lewis Waiting for the train
C Atul Kshirsagar LRPS Buttermere

The Intermediates Class, however, is now down to a two-horse race with Katie and Deborah neck and neck on 17 points each.

ADVANCED

1st Phil George Fashion
2nd Kelly Long Jupiter ascending a self-portrait
3rd Robin Shaw LRPS Turning heads at the National Motor Museum
C Dan Cowen Rose
C Jacquie Powell LRPS Dawn overlooking San Giorgio
C Alan Thompson LRPS Flying high
C Adrian Walmsley LRPS Played and missed

In the Advanced Class, it would appear to be between Helen and Alan though Phil, Adrian or Kelly could win if results go their way.

GOLD

1st Sarah Townley ARPS Garlic
2nd Glyn Paton LRPS CPAGB A drink and a gossip in the museum
3rd Pete Whieldon ARPS DPAGB Wild kestrel balancing on post
C Roger Dixey ARPS DPAGB BPE2* Smuggler’s cove
C Ray Hems LRPS Coot confrontation
C Chris Maidens LRPS CPAGB AFIAP Morning from Stagbury
C Tony Cowburn ARPS Stairway to heaven

Sadly there is no excitement here as Sarah is the runaway winner.  Two firsts and two seconds mean she doesn’t even need to enter the last round as she’s thrashed everyone!  Well done Sarah.
