Classes and Trophies
There are ten classes, the same as last year, including one reserved for members of the WPS Beginners competition class.
In addition, there is a special Themed Class.
To mark the WPS Centenary, this year’s Theme is ‘Celebration’. This could be a birthday, a special event, players celebrating a goal etc. This has a wide scope.
A trophy will be awarded for the winner in each class, together with a number of certificates of merit.
Print Sales
As last year, the ARC will offer our images for sale.
If you do not want an image sold, you should mark it as Not For Sale.
Entry process
Entries must be submitted electronically via the online PDI upload system which will be available for four weeks, prior to images being judged. Please read the Terms and Conditions before doing this.
Images will be entered in classes, checked for adherence to society and class rules, and judged by a team of three expert judges who are not members of WPS.
After judging, entrants will be notified which of their images have been accepted and whether they have been awarded any Trophies or Certificates of Merit. At this stage, entrants must submit prints of the accepted images, which must be available to the organisers by the deadline shown below. They will be retained for framing and hanging and returned after the exhibition.
The Exhibition
It intended that the Annual Exhibition will include a Private View evening, when members and their guests may view the exhibition.
Trophies and Certificates of Merit will be presented.
Each visitor has the opportunity to purchase work, and is invited to enter the Public Vote for their favourite print.
After the Exhibition closes, the winner of the Public Vote will be announced and awarded the Murla trophy.
The Catalogue listing all accepted entries, with reproductions of the trophy and certificate winning images and a selection of the accepted images, will be available to view online, as will a gallery of all the accepted images.
Each entrant will receive a copy of the printed catalogue.
Helpers needed
All members of WPS are encouraged to enter work for the exhibition and to assist in the process of organising and staffing it.
Volunteers are required at each stage and are vital to its success, but volunteering also offers an enjoyable experience and the opportunity to learn what distinguishes a successful exhibition print.
