WNE 2015 Submission of Images

Preparing your Images for Submission

This page is being updated for the Winchester National Exhibition 2016

  • Entry is by digital upload only (e.g. no CDs or memory sticks) via Winchester Photographic Society’s website upload page (opens in new window/tab)

Entries will be accepted between 1 May and 30 June 2015

  • JPEG/JPG images only (no RAW or TIFF files)
  • Images will be projected for selection using a colour-calibrated projector in a darkened room, using sRGB colour space, and projected at a maximum size of 1400 pixels wide and 1050 pixels high
  • It is recommended that you make sure your images are converted to sRGB colourspace before submission to be certain that the exhibition judges will see the same colours as you when the images are projected
  • It is also recommended that you resize your images to fit within our projector’s frame size of 1400 (W) x 1050 (H) pixels. Images that have not been set within these maximum dimensions will still be accepted as they will be automatically re-sized by our software. However, photographers may prefer to have ultimate control of their images by re-sizing them themselves
  • Please do not add any unnecessary borders to your images: black borders serve no purpose for digital projection, while white borders can distract the eye from the image. A thin stroke-border around the image is acceptable
  • Please set image resolution to 300ppi – this is for catalogue printing purposes only; it has no effect on the quality of the projected image
  • Titles – when uploading your image you will be asked to enter its title. Please take care to enter this correctly as, if your image is accepted, your exact wording will accompany your image in the exhibition and in the printed catalogue
  • No title or identification of the photographer is permitted anywhere on the image itself
  • You do not have to complete your entire exhibition entry in one session. Our software allows you to upload images, save them and return at a later date (within the entry period!) to amend/delete/add more images
